Create your workspace

A workspace is the outer container for everything: members, teams, projects, files, credits, and billing. You need one before anything else makes sense.

You probably already have one

The first time you sign in, Dhanu creates a workspace called General for you automatically, and makes you its Owner. This happens only for a genuinely new account — one that owns no workspace and was not invited into someone else’s.

If you were invited to a workspace, no personal workspace is created for you. You land directly in the one that invited you.

Creator and Owner are not the same thing

Two different ideas sit behind “who runs this workspace”.

The creator is whoever first made the workspace. It is recorded once and never changes, even if that person later hands over the reins.

The Owner is a role, and a workspace can have more than one person holding it.

Almost all the time the creator is also an Owner and you never need to think about the difference. It matters in exactly one case: only the creator can remove an Owner. An Owner cannot remove another Owner.

You can belong to many workspaces

Being a member of one workspace does not stop you joining others. A contractor might be in their own workspace and in two client workspaces at once. Switch between them from the workspace switcher; Dhanu remembers the one you were last in.

Each workspace is fully separate — its own members, its own projects, its own files, its own credit balance. Nothing leaks between them.
